LISA is a terrifyingly gripping story by Karen Lewis, and brought goose bumps to my chilled skin. Lisa was murder twenty years ago and the only suspect they had was her boyfriend at the time, Garrick Boyd. But, they had no evidence that he did anything wrong, and the case went cold. Scott is a hard-headed crime report who will step on anyone’s toes to get an answer, and I really like that about him. I’m also very fond of Scott’s friends, Ben and Meg. There, for a while, I was pulling for Scott and Meg to be together, but as you read through the story, you see that Scott is so caught up with Lisa’s murder, he can’t have a healthy relationship and it wouldn’t be fair to Meg. I was really ecstatic about half way through the story when the mystery really gets a strange twist and that is what I like best about Ms. Lewis’ books. That, and the atmosphere in her stories, always adds that extra kick. It should always be rainy or foggy or misty when the killer comes about and Ms. Lewis’s does that part so well. I also enjoyed meeting Scott’s grandmother, Violet. She runs an antique store and she’s a hoot. She seems to be the only family Scott has and I could see he loves her dearly. But she has a new husband and Scott can’t quite accept him. He’s too confused about the new developments, and dreams he keeps having about Lisa. You won’t believe the outcome of this book. LISA is a book to die for, so go grab a copy today!
